BLACKIE & THE RODEO KINGS CONTINUE TO CLIMB THE US AMERICANA
CHART
~BAND MOVES FROM #14 TO #12 WITH BARK~
Toronto - June 15, 2004 - Juno award winning Blackie
& The Rodeo Kings continue their steady climb on US radio as
the band stands at #12 on the US Americana charts. The album BARK
was released in the US six weeks ago and already 70 stations have
added the single Water or Gasoline including WXPN in Philadelphia,
KGSR in Austin, KCUV in Denver and KDHX in St. Louis.
The musically breath-taking trio comprised of Stephen Fearing, Colin
Linden and Tom Wilson played a two week national tour late May with
the legendary Merle Haggard to highly acclaimed praise across Canada
and were extremely honoured to be a part of Merle's Canadian dates.
The band has been gaining many US fans including the press and will
be touring the US in September.
"In this age of ultra serious bands that leave you feeling
completely depressed, it is a breath of fresh air to hear songs
that sound like the band is having fun playing them. BARK should
pay a visit to these shores and treat us to these songs in a live
setting as soon as humanly possible. This band is absolutely awesome."
-Dan Wilkinson/Americana UK
"BARK is the garage band record of the year S reveals a band
coming into its own with authority, reckless abandon, and a wicked
rock & roll grin."
- Thom Jurek/All Music Guide
"Bark sounds like the product of Tom Waits and Johnny Cash's
unholy offspring. An excellent new offering from a talented trio
...RECOMMENDED (4 STARS)" CLUB FM RADIO
"
A unique fusion of rock, roots, folk, blues and country influences
Some of the best material that these three talented songwriters
have ever put to disc. BARK is a uniquely entertaining and powerful
record." --Amazon.com
